Wisconsin Transit & Realty Group (WTRG) is developing a revolutionary high-speed transportation solution for Southeastern Wisconsin—a modern commuter rail system connecting Kenosha, Racine, and Milwaukee (KRM) with a SMART City development platform that will transform our region into a powerful economic force. The KRM rail line will also connect to Chicago.
OUR VISION
We're revitalizing the long-planned KRM commuter rail corridor with a unique public-private approach that bypasses previous political gridlock. Our project will:
Connect communities along Lake Michigan to major job centers, educational institutions, and cultural attractions
Create modern, hydrogen-powered commuter rail service with connections to Chicago
Develop vibrant Transit-Oriented Districts (TODs) at 9 station locations for Phase 1; 27 total station locations for Phases 2 and 3
Generate over $10 billion in economic growth across the region
A LEGACY PROJECT FOR WISCONSIN
This project represents the last major transportation corridor to be developed in the United States. By combining state-of-the-art commuter rail with strategic real estate development, we're creating:
New housing options near transit (3,000-5,000 units)
Expanded job opportunities and workforce access
Environmental benefits through reduced emissions

EXPERT LEADERSHIP
Our management team brings over 180 years of combined experience in transportation, finance, real estate development, and government relations. We've assembled rail industry experts, federal funding specialists, and development professionals to deliver this transformative project.
FEDERAL PARTNERSHIP
The WTRG project was accepted into the Federal Transit Administration's Capital Investment Grant program, but due to COVID we had to withdraw. Now, with the federal government committed to providing 80% of the funding through grants and loans, WTRG can move forward with new private funding partners. This project is positioned to become a national P3 BOO (Build, Own, Operate) model for innovative transportation development.
